The father is a central figure in the family. He is the head of the family and the family, in turn, is the foundation unit of society. Father School aims to teach healthy family values in the midst of dysfunction, miscommunication and broken relationships. We believe that true transformation and growth begins with forgiveness and healing which enables us to recover broken relationships. It all begins with the father of the family.
Duranno Father School offers guidance on how to begin this healing process within yourself and your family so that your home may be filled with rest, peace, hope, and love. Fathers, it begins with us. Come and let us build our families together.
WHY FATHER SCHOOL?
Father School was established by Duranno in October, 1995, in Seoul, Korea, in response to the growing national epidemic of abusive, ineffective and absentee fathers. Duranno Father School was founded on the premise that when the father stands firmly as the head of the household, society will also stand firm, thus creating a firm and healthy world. “Duranno” is the Korean way of pronouncing “Tyrannus” (a lecture hall) which is found in Acts 19:9
Father School is a 3 days program that instructs fathers on their role as the head of the family. Fathers will discover their position in the family unit and learn what it means to be the family’s authoritative head. In the larger context, Father School is also a social movement that fosters a healthy family culture. Those who attend are encouraged to become diligent contributors to their respective vocations as well as society at large. Moreover, participants are also challenged to take the lead in changing the world around them. Finally, and most importantly, fathers are encouraged to pass on these family values to their children so that they might in turn become men and women of integrity.
Duranno Father School pursues the biblical image of the father, helps fathers to recover their lost authority in families, corrects the wrongfully exercised authority of fathers, and returns fathers to their noble position in the family. Duranno Father School is a movement that challenges men to change society and the world by first and foremost, being good fathers in the home.
01. Recovering the identity of the father
02. Creating a new and healthy family culture
03. Developing strong leadership skills in the workplace and in society
04. Establishing new support groups as a type of social service
Our aim is to change society by first changing the father. We aim to help men recover their identity as the father of the family and reunify the family through their role. By rebuilding strong and healthy families, we will transform our communities and spread this social campaign to every household in all nations. Father School will lead that charge to change and challenge men to become active in leading their families and society at large.
